It began long ago, two young boys in an American town riding their bikes to school and Little League practice.

Over the years, the boys became fast friends, united in their love for stories where things would go horribly wrong.

And has been for quite some time, actually. Except no substitutes or cheap imitations insist on the actual

podcast. We don't want you misled.

Before we start, I need to give a special shout out not only to our listeners, but to my

dear, dear friend, J.G., who very graciously said last week, Lins, why don't we just run an episode

from before so we don't have to record a new one?

Very quickly, the reason we did that is that I had to go back to Arizona to tend to and essentially

say goodbye to my mom in Tucson.

And she has since passed away, and I am grateful for that. I am relieved that she is in Tucson. And she has since passed away, and I am grateful for that.

I am relieved that she is in heaven and reunited with my dad and all of her friends.

But I was very touched by the fact that J.G. said, you know, Lins, I think your relationship

with your mom is more important than this damn podcast.

Yeah, I was really going out on a limb there.

But I wanted to acknowledge that.

And it was interesting because a few days ago, a woman named Devin, who is on our street and is a big fan.

She and her husband Brad are big fans of this podcast. And she said,

first came out. I wasn't listening to the podcast. So I thought, you know what? That's probably
