It began long ago. Two young boys in an American town riding their bikes to school and Little League practice.

Over the years, the boys became fast friends, united in their love for stories where things would go horribly wrong.

So this is our very first international version of the shallow end with Schnebley and Toth.

Lindsay is in his home studio in Los Angeles, California.

And I am in a Verbo, an Airbnb kind of place in Barcelona.

And what room of the house are you in, J.G?

This is an extra bedroom, and this is a really pretty swanky place.

It's a 200-year-old building.

Holy cow.

That's the amazing thing about being in Europe.

Things that we think are so old here comparatively are very, very young. And then you get to Europe and you think, oh, this church was built in 1324, huh?

And I'm impressed that my hometown has a McDonald's from 1964.

It's like one of the original ones.

There's a cultural difference.

There is.

One of the things that was a little alarming, though, is it's got this old elevator in it.

It's charming and everything, but I asked the guy who owns the flat that we're in how old the elevator was.

And he said, oh, they put that in when they built the building.
