I have you at a slight disadvantage here because having spent the last couple of weeks with your new book,

But what I do want to know is a little bit about why you decided to write it.

I suppose it goes back 25 years, really.

I've always been a collector of carbooks.

I've always loved reading other people's stories.

And I just thought one day I'd love to see my title

in amongst all them great titles.

And I just started before the days of computers, phones, stuff like that.

I started jotting a few things down.

And I think I wrote the first 85,000 words by hand in an A4 book that I still got at home.

It was scribbled.
