And we begin with the crushing of a world record by a country fighting climate change.

Yesterday, volunteers across the eastern

African country of Ethiopia planted over 350 million trees in just 12

hours. India held the prior record of 50 million trees planted in a single day back in 2016.

Ethiopia is in the midst of a month-long campaign to fight deforestation, the permanent destruction

of forests, by planting 4 billion trees between May and October.

Right now they're a little over halfway there.

And for those of you wondering how in the world they're keeping count the country's prime minister says they're using

a specially designed computer software to do the job.

In entertainment news the House of Mouse is breaking its own records at the box office.

Disney, the movie studio behind some of your favorite films,

has earned over seven and a half billion dollars worldwide so far this year. Some of the blockbusters that led

ticket buyers to the theaters, Avengers Endgame, Captain Marvel, and Aladdin, each of

which is either earned or is on its way to earning $1 billion a piece.

And Disney is far from closing its books on 2019.

Before years end, a trio of highly anticipated sequels will hit the big screen.

Maleficent, Mistress of Evil,

frozen two, and Star Wars, The Rise of Skywalker.

Beginning tonight, political watchers are predicting two nights of verbal fireworks in Detroit, Michigan.
