Good morning, and welcome to Kid News!

We're hitting the beach for a few weeks, but we're still keen to keep you in the

know and on your toes.

Today's thinker caused a stir back in February when new prints of several books by the

late role doll, like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, the BFG, James and the Giant Peach

in Matilda underwent publisher edits to replace what some might consider offensive language.

According to the Telegraph newspaper, hundreds of words, including descriptions and characters,

appearances, races and genders, were changed or removed in at least ten of his novels.

While some celebrated the changes, others, like famed author Salmon Rushdie, called its

censorship.

Do you think that books, especially Kid's books, should be updated to remove or change

parts that might have been acceptable when they were written, but are now considered offensive?
