And we begin with a New York community using reverse psychology to get kids to wear bike helmets.

Police in Schamung, New York were a bit distressed to see so many road warriors riding without

them, so they started handing out tickets.

Not to those who forgot to protect their melon, but to those who didn't.

All summer long, anyone spotted with a helmet gets a citation for free ice cream.

A local bike store is helping spread the word and it's

apparently working. But parents no freebies for you. The local sheriff

expects you to wear your helmet simply because it's the smart thing to do.

It's a cheeky, just for fun Facebook pledge that's getting an out of this world amount of attention.

More than a half million people have now signed up to

raid a facility in the Nevada desert that some believe holds government secrets

about crashed UFOs and extraterrestrials.

The site is called Area 51.

It's a super secret military base

where no pictures are allowed,

and trespassing is a definite no-no.

The funny folks who planned the pretend raid are milking the moment with

memes of E.T. riding away in his bicycle and the Big Bangs Sheldon Cooper

having a conversation with SpaceX founder Elon Musk.

The military says it's aware of the post and all the signatures,

but, not surprisingly, has no comment.
