No one likes to pay more money for things, but visitors to Hawaii may soon have to pony up a little bit more while in paradise.

The fee, a $25 climate tax.

If Hawaii's government passes it, the state will use the funds to preserve its beaches and prevent wildfires.

Hawaii's new measure would not be the first of its kind.

Popular vacation destinations around the world, such as Greece, Italy, the Galapagos Islands, and New Zealand require visitors to pay similar fees ranging from $1 to $100.
