Deep down you know it's true. There's no perfect diet, but you keep trying to find the one.

It's the same story every time. You find that expert, that guru that will change everything.

So you buy their latest and greatest book or meal plan, you watch all their videos, you want to know

everything about their routine, you listen to all their videos, you want to know everything about their routine,

you listen to all their podcasts, and you just think if you could just do exactly what they do

to a tea, you would be set. So you throw at all the food that's not in their plan. You buy all the food that is in their planned.

And you are stoked because you dream about the possibilities of what it will be like if you could become as successful with it as they are.

But soon enough, you find yourself spending more time preparing food thinking about food worrying about

food and your food fears start to affect your social life preparing meals starts to take away from time

with your friends weekends become scary because you don't know if you can eat as perfectly as you do

during the week. And in the end, you find yourself isolated and fearful and unworthy. And the cycle

continues. Here's the problem with clean eating. It can become a drug. When it stresses you out more than it brings you joy,

when you can no longer enjoy a meal out without checking the website beforehand to see what the

cleanest options are, when you're constantly comparing your body to the body that you want

and not feeling good enough. It's a drug. It becomes obsessive and the same unhealthy pattern

can happen with exercise. And this is just no surprise from today's diet-obsessed culture and

body-obsessed culture. Most of us have, especially women, have fallen prey to believing that a certain amount of exercise is mandatory

and even moral, right? We get so wrapped up to a certain way of eating being moral. And

that's just not the case. So those words were not my own. They were me sprinkled into my guests today, Maddie Moon's words.
