Today, a very useful expression, and this expression is very popular in America, especially

regarding baseball.

It is a rain check.

Could you give me a rain check? I'd like a rain check. They you give me a rain check?

I'd like a rain check.

They're giving us a rain check.

I hope we get a rain check.

R-A-I-N-C-H-E-C-K.

A rain check is basically a new ticket.

So this is the idea.

You go to a baseball game, you pay for a ticket,

and if you pay for a ticket, you want to see the entire game.

So the game starts and everything is good,

but then it starts to rain.

And before they can finish the game the rain is coming down too hard

and they cancel the game they don't finish it so what what this this makes you angry right

because you paid for the game so in this, what the baseball team will do or the stadium, they will usually give you a rain check. And that's just a new ticket so that you can come back another time and watch the game. Okay? that's the idea, a rain check.

So we use this in baseball, but we also use it when it comes to shopping.

And I'll explain that after you check out the dialogue.
