Last August, scientists revealed that they're using machines to help them understand the

mysterious languages of the animal kingdom.

Diana Reese, an expert on dolphin cognition at Hunter College, told The New York Times

they're basically trying to find a Google translate for other species.

The field is very new, but the research so far shows animal communication is far more

complex than it sounds to the human ear.

Studying this chatter, she believes, will provide a fascinating look into the lives of

our animal friends.
