And we begin with the nation's leading voice on coronavirus seeing light at the end of the tunnel. This week Dr. Anthony

Fauchy, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious

diseases, said he's cautiously optimistic that a couple hundred million doses of vaccine will be

available by January. The pharmaceutical firm Moderna is reportedly on track to

test 30,000 people next month.

One note of caution, while Dr. Fauchy is hopeful that a safe vaccine will be available in 2021,

he admits no one knows how much protection it could provide, meaning like the annual flu shot

getting a COVID-19 vaccine could become part of your regular checkup.

You'll never walk alone.

That's the message a group of neighbors in Nashville is giving to one of their own.

Last week, a 54-year-old African-American man shared on a neighborhood app that he wanted to take a walk but

feared for his safety. One by one the responses came in. We'll walk with you. In no time at all

some 75 neighbors wearing masks and social

distancing joined Sean Drumgool for a stroll. Reflecting on the outpouring of

support, Sean told a local news crew, I just wanted to take a walk in my

neighborhood, but if it's going to change the way people see people like me, then I

want to do that. Sean and his neighbors are scheduled to take their second

lap together tonight. Nashville's in the spotlight today for another reason as a

potential new location for this year's Republican National Convention.
