LA City Council votes to mandate air conditioning and all rental units.

And this is one big deal.

First of all, we start with the city of Los Angeles, where I have lived virtually my entire life.

And we get some really great summers, as in insanely hot, particularly a heat wave that was just a little while ago.

And as you know, climate change is upon us.

And if you don't believe it, that's fine.

You can, that's a different conversation.

But I can tell you science and just look at the weather reports, it is hot as hell here.

And it's getting hotter.

Droughts are getting longer and the heat waves are getting heatier.

So the LA City Council, very liberal city council, voted, moved actually to, it moved towards a plan to have mandatory air conditioning in all rental units in the city,

not new rental units in all rental units.

Now, usually when you're doing something of this magnitude, the government does something

in this magnitude, it's forward thinking.

For example, all new construction, all new housing in the state of California has to have solar panels.

And I think that started just a few weeks ago or it starts next January 1st.

If you're building a building, I think it's new permitted building, you have to have solar panels.

But that is in the future.

This one says, if you've got a rental unit, you're going to put air conditioning in.

And the council voted unanimously.

And it calls for all landlords or property managers to install
