No more buildup, no more anticipation.

If you are not seeing springbirds returning neotropical migrants,

right now, you're not trying. I've been spending my time working on my local patches

for the fantasy burning Yard Squad competition that I'm doing once more. My team is the Raven

Lunatics, the rare double pun.

We've been holding on to the third place by the skin of our teeth as of the time that I record this.

If you're not familiar with the Fantasy Burning Yard Squad, this year we did something a little bit different.

There was a draft.

So team captains got to pick the participants based on where they live or possible species or whatever. I wasn't a captain, so I don't know the criteria. But anyway, the competition as a whole,

I can sort of take or leave. My entire motivation, the only thing I've been trying to do

has been to have the best list among the other burders on my team in the eastern U.S., of which

there are several. I am only trying to justify my selection in the whatever round I was in.

I actually don't even remember anymore. My competition is my teammates. They probably don't want to hear that. Or maybe
