begin with a big part of the U.S. dealing with the first heat wave of the year. The hot

weather started in Texas over the weekend, where temperatures soared as high as 112 degrees

at Rio Grande Village near the Mexico border on Saturday. But the weather pattern is now

Great Lakes in the next couple days. The National Weather Service is reminding those living

in these areas to practice heat safety if they have outdoor plans, and stay hydrated.

This heat wave is not good news for firefighters battling large wildfires in New Mexico. The

biggest blaze northeast of Santa Fe is more than twice the size of Philadelphia, and thousands

of residents have had to evacuate. Full containment is not expected until the end of July.

There was a busy mother's day for one New York mom, who just last week gave birth to twins
