That's just the start of all this.

I don't know if you've ever used TurboTax, but they have an ad where they will give you their tax forms, and it's, I quote, free, free.

That's their ad campaign. so a simple tax form is

free well it turns out that they upsell like crazy and the vast majority of the free

tax forms aren't they will start adding. And people end up not even knowing that, well, they know

they're getting charged, but not knowing that it should be free. They figure, okay, they're upselling

me. It's going to cost me a few more dollars. Well, it's illegal. You can't do that. So, Intuit just paid $141 million to over

four million customers across the United States for, well, this fraud. I can't use the

word fraud because they admitted no liability. And it was a civil settlement. So, alleged fraud, although it sure smells to high heaven for me, but I can't say it was fraud.

But the point is, hey, it's free, free, free except that it's not.

Oh, well, then why'd you pay $141 million?

Well, because as usual, the cost of litigation would have been far more, and we're just doing this as a business decision, which I understand.

That happens all the time when companies settle saying the cost of litigation, it's not worth concentrating on this. Let's just move on.

The point on this one, $141 million buys you a lot of litigation. I mean a lot of litigation.

And I have some serious doubts whether the argument is, oh, it's going to cost us more than that and a lawyer

costs. No, it's not. So, you know, clearly I'm going to argue, um, last year or until last year,

there were two free versions of turbotax and, no, didn't work out that way. Not much was free. Let's do it. We have phone calls
