And we begin with Hawaii's Kilauea Volcano. It's putting on a spectacular show scientists say hasn't happened in nearly

40 years. The volcano has been shooting lava hundreds of feet into the air over and over with only

brief pauses between eruptions. Scientists call this phenomenon rapid rebound and it occurs when

magma quickly refills the magma chamber beneath a volcano after

one eruption, causing another in rapid succession. So far, there have been 19 eruptive episodes

in four months. There's no danger to residents, as Kilauea is far from residential areas,

but people downwind are being urged to mask up to protect themselves

from ash and volcanic gases. Newark Airport in New Jersey is one of the busiest in the country,

a known choke point for flights, and often plagued by delays. Now the problem is so bad United Airlines is cutting 35

flights a day from its schedule and actually encouraging passengers to consider other airports.

But it's not just United. As of 130 yesterday afternoon, 265 flights had been delayed and 151 were
