| 0:18.9 | Your listening to Fox Sports Radio. Well, we got a member of this show in for Clay today who is not happy with somebody in the national football league and I agree with him. We will get into the drama coming up here and just a couple of moments from now. He is Jeff Schwartz. I'm Jonas Knox. This is outkicked the coverage here and ladies and gentlemen. He is the great Jeff Schwartz. |
| 0:48.7 | Yes, I am. I'm glad that that's I might I might take that introduction that you just gave me and like pasted on my 20 file. That's what I'm a personal height man. Anybody I work with I just hype them up as much as possible because I know nobody's tuning in here. My candy ass. I just like I just like that when you win with that they say our names. It's just like eight year NFL that I'm like, ooh, it makes me sound like super cool. And that there's nothing next to my name for her. Raddit Chuckie cheese. I'm like, I teach a Friday's bar back. |
| 1:18.7 | Yeah, there's nothing there's no credentials to my name whatsoever. We got a problem in the NFL. We do. |
| 1:26.7 | And it feels like some players maybe are just now noticing the fine print on on some of what they have potentially agreed to. |
| 1:38.4 | A Jewel James offensive lineman for the Denver Broncos tours Achilles and you know tough break for the Broncos tough break for him. |
| 1:49.4 | But it took a turn when the reality started to set in that this took place away from the team facility, which means that the Denver Broncos can do what Jeff Schwartz. |
| 2:02.4 | They can take his money. So let's let's go back a little crazy. So the NFL PA has decided to make a big stand, a quote, quote, boycott because it's hard to boycott something that's voluntary. |
| 2:17.4 | But nonetheless, they have boycotted voluntary workouts in the NFL Office and program. The NFL Office and program starts typically around April 20th, April 15th. |
| 2:28.4 | And it goes 10 weeks and the Office and program is not a lot of work. Okay, it's four hours a day for the first, I believe five weeks. |
| 2:38.4 | And the next three weeks are six hours a day and then you have a mini camp either at the end or sometimes maybe toward the end. |
| 2:45.4 | There's a rookie mini camp as well that that that you've been remember last season. There was no office and program was all virtual because of COVID. |
| 2:53.4 | And you know, both sides will bicker on like the actual injury numbers, but the NFL Paces injuries were reduced. The NFL's in the eight guys injuries were not reduced last year. |
| 3:02.4 | And so the NFL PA has made a big deal about what again boycotting these work for a while. We all just went even they were voluntary. We all went right and guys that that held out during a voluntary time were, you know, we're all more just short as whole now is not an office worker. |
| 3:19.4 | You must be upset with with the team must want a new contract. So the NFL PA made a big stink about this. They want to eliminate the offices and program in general. |
| 3:28.4 | And you know, the benefits we get from it financially there are workout bonuses that be had we don't get paid very much when we're there. |
| 3:36.4 | So you're not, you know, there's no for a lot of us. There is no financial incentive to be there. But a lot of us do actually like it because you hang out with your friends on the team, right. |
| 3:45.4 | We hopefully you're friendly with your teammates. You do it in a stress-free environment because you're not playing football. And then you get to golf with them and have dinner with them and just be s with them. And again, like you're preparing for the season, your boot up camaraderie, you're going over the playbook. |
| 3:59.4 | But it's a stress freeze. Not very tough during this time. But the NFL PA is determined that they're fighting really hard to not have this be be part of the routine. |
| 4:10.4 | And you know, the arguments are, hey, the NBA doesn't have this. The MLB doesn't have this. Why should we have this? Okay, fair enough. But to me, it's not a fight worth having because the NFL will always say, hey, oh, what you don't want the offices and program. Okay, fine. |
| 4:27.4 | Don't have it, but give us this instead. And all we're doing even right now is we're giving money back to you. Is there players that are really forfeiting $100,000 in workout bonuses to not be there right now. Like I don't understand this fight. It's very easy to just show up in the Austin program, do the Austin program. |
| 4:47.4 | And then worry about fighting for other things that I believe are more worthwhile. So what happened yesterday was the news came out that John James got himself injured off, you off site essentially, because no one's there right now. |
