So there's this man's name is James Stigler.

James Stigler teaches psychology out at UCLA currently,

but when he was a grad student,

he went to University of Michigan.

In 1979, he traveled to Japan,

and read this article about this trip to Japan,

where he just wanted to study like kind of Asian teaching

practices, because that's what his expertise is,

is basically observational learning in classrooms and whatnot.

And he tells the story about being there

in one of these Japanese classrooms,

fourth graders.

And the lesson for the day was teaching the fourth graders

how to draw like a 3D cube, you know, in a piece of paper.
