This situation is shameful and embarrassing and never in the history of this great nation has a

government been so feeble at a time when our people and our allies are under assault.

But on the government side, they deplore what they say is party politicking in time of war.

I have to say I am profoundly shocked.

Also calls for the MOD police to put fear into the hearts of fraudsters.

If they're caught committing fraud, they get punished.

But first, the shadow Foreign secretary, Dame Pretty Patel,

has fiercely criticised the government's handling of the conflict in the Middle East,

accusing the UK of having been woefully unprepared for the war

and saying our allies were raging against Britain's feebleness.

Her attack followed a statement from the Foreign Office Minister Hamish Faulkner,

who'd come to the Commons to update MPs on what helped the government was offering

the 300,000 UK citizens in the region.

He said nearly half of that number had now registered their presence.

Some commercial flights were now taking off and the government had

chartered flights out of the Omani capital Muscat. The first one has now taken off after an initial
