Hello and welcome to the Wednesday May 2nd 2018 edition of Tesla Daily Unofficial

0:11.6

Tesla Podcast. My name is Rob Mower. Today we are talking

0:14.2

about initial impressions from the Q1 earnings report. There's a lot here, a lot going on today,

0:18.6

so we'll probably have to unpack all of this over a couple of episodes. Prior to the

0:22.2

earnings report released today

0:23.3

Tesla finished the day up 0.41% to $301.15 cents as compared to the NASDAQ down

0:29.1

0.42%. After the shareholder letter came out Tesla was roughly flat towards that price and then after the conference call,

0:35.8

Tesla finished after hours down 4.55% to $282.46 cents. I do think that that fall is going to be short-lived. I would expect that

0:46.6

Tesla finishes the week back above 300. It's always difficult making those predictions,

0:50.7

especially in such a short amount of time. But I don't think that there was anything material here that should have called. those always don't trade on any of those stock price predictions. I more throw them out there because I think it's interesting fun to talk about it's not advice for trading.

1:06.0

Thank you. So I think I'm going to start with the shareholder letter but before we talk about that

1:09.6

huge congratulations for Galileo Russell for making it on.

1:13.0

And again, thank you to everyone that supported that effort

1:15.4

to get Galileo on the call today to ask a question.

1:18.3

And clearly that effort was successful.

1:20.2

Galileo had the opportunity to ask not just one question and one follow-up like most

1:24.5

analysts had the opportunity to do, but instead asking about nine questions with a

1:29.0

couple of follow-ups in there too. So it was really cool to see that. We'll

1:32.1

talk about that in a second here. I think we'll go through the shareholder letter, kind of the main takeaways there. The biggest things from the conference call and then some of the interesting dynamics that were at play there on the call. And then I think we'll keep digging into more of the details probably on

1:43.5

tomorrow's episode and maybe even beyond that. Beginning with a shareholder letter as

1:47.0

always Tesla began with bullet points the first of which was model three production

1:50.5

hitting 2,270 per week in April for the third straight week over 2,000.
