Summary

With so much uncertainty right now, we have to think about the what-ifs. What if we get sick? What if we have to quarantine? The majority of schools are asking teachers to plan for those what-ifs and create sub plans that can last from anywhere between 5-10 days. To help you with this process, we’ve come up with 10 tips on how to write sub plans during a pandemic.    TIPS FOR WRITING SUB PLANS DURING A PANDEMIC   Tip #1: Have materials in an easy to find location in your room (make this obvious!) Tip #2: Put your plans in a Google Drive folder and share with teammates/admin for easy access Tip #3: Have a list of typical routines and procedures that you use when teaching Tip #4: Have a recorded lesson ready to go that can be used at any time Tip #5: Develop a Flow for for each block of teaching Tip #6: Schedule assignments ahead of time on your LMS so if you’re out, they are ready to go! Tip #7: Have a list of student information readily available Tip #8: Try to find a sub that is familiar with your school/students Tip #9: Keep easy to use (theme) extras in your sub area Tip #10: Consider sprinkling your students to other classes   SUBSCRIBE & REVIEW Are you subscribed to our podcast? get our subplans in order. So today we're going to be

0:23.3

sharing 10 tips for writing some plans during a pandemic, whether you are teaching in person

0:30.1

or virtual. But first, let's hear from Cassidy. Cassidy's TSAH or time-sucking hurdle is trying to plan for every possible

0:40.0

situation for this school year. We feel you, Cassidy. I'm trying to be patient and wait for my

0:45.3

district to decide if we will be all digital or half in person and half digital, but my brain is

0:51.0

overloading as I consider every possible course of action.

0:54.8

It is hard for me to accept that I am out of control and just need to take a step back and work

0:59.6

on what I can control. Cassidy, we feel you. We're all in the same boat. And hopefully today's

1:05.9

episode will help with just a little piece of that, you know, subplans. It's not something major,

1:10.5

but hopefully it will help ease some of that, you know, subplans. It's not something major, but hopefully

1:11.3

it will help ease some of that anxiety surrounding the unknown. Yeah, and I think this year is going to be

1:18.6

so different when it comes to subplans, because let's be honest, one of us, any of us,

1:30.8

for an entire month. Am I right, Michelle? Yeah, I feel like I've heard an average of like two weeks,

1:37.0

but I've also heard such different things. I've heard where some people get it and it doesn't

1:40.8

affect them that bad and it's almost just like a cold and then other people it

1:44.2

really really affects them so again so many unknown things there's so many different unknown so
