Listen, today we are going to be sharing our secret for staying positive during the tough times,

0:22.8

because these are certainly some tough times, And it's normal to feel negative right now, but we can't dwell on that. So today's episode is all

0:29.5

about how you can kind of change your mindset and look at things in a more positive light.

0:35.3

Yeah, that's a really big one, like having a growth mindset throughout all of

0:38.7

this. But first, let's go ahead and hear TSAH from Nicole. And Nicole says her time-sucking hurdle is

0:45.5

worrying. I'm a first-year teacher in COVID time and my kids are in the building. My first week

0:51.9

did not go well. I try to reflect on the day, but I get upset because

0:55.8

there are certain things that I cannot change. I spend more time trying to cheer myself up instead of

1:03.0

working on what is in my control. But it doesn't make me feel better. So I'm still sad and unprepared for

1:10.3

school the next day. And it becomes a cycle of

1:13.1

worrying and not getting anything done. Nicole, I think there are so many teachers that are out there

1:18.2

that are feeling the exact same way that you are. Yeah, Nicole, I was going to say what you just

1:24.6

described, I think, is how pretty much every teacher is feeling,

1:28.5

whether they're teaching in person, hybrid, virtual, it doesn't matter. We all have these same

1:33.2

feelings. And I think overwhelmingly, we are all feeling very negative because there are so many

1:39.2

things to feel negative about. And like we said, we just can't dwell on it. And that's the reason we decided to do

1:47.2

this podcast is because we have to find ways to overcome it. We can't just keep making excuses and

1:53.6

focusing on the negative. We have to make improvements and make things better. Yeah. And at the end of

1:58.9

the day, listen, none of us wouldn't be doing what we're doing right now, right? We never signed up to go into teaching and do it the way that we are right now.

2:07.1

And yeah, it sucks. I mean, I will tell my students that this sucks. Like, I don't want to do it this way.
