reminding Southern Californians that they live in earthquake country. It hit yesterday morning at about

10.08 local time in the town of Julian, about an hour northeast of San Diego. First reports put the magnitude

at 6.7, but that was quickly downgraded to a still significant 5.2. Robin Boland with the Chamber of

Commerce says the quake certainly got her town's attention. Everybody was running out to the sidewalks

on Main Street, she told CBS News, and all the car alarms were going off.

In the moments before it struck, emergency text alerts ordered residents as far away as Los Angeles to drop, cover, hold on, protect yourself.

According to the USGS, the big quake was followed by at least seven aftershocks.

As of this recording, no significant damage or injuries have been reported. Today's the day your parents probably don't like very much,

but it's one that Uncle Sam loves. April 15th is income tax day across the U.S., meaning

midnight tonight is the deadline to get forms filed

and checks written. But this year, the Internal Revenue Service has given nine states and a handful

of counties extensions to file their federal forms due to recent natural disasters, such as

hurricanes Helene and Milton and other storms that cause severe flooding.
