And we begin with a disconcerting and downright creepy revelation about Amazon's Alexa.

Not only is she listening to what you tell her, so too are apparently thousands of real live Amazon employees.

The retail giant now admits employing a global workforce whose only job is to review what

families say to or within airshot of its echo speakers.

The recordings are then transcribed,

meaning written out word for word,

and then fed back into the software

to help Alexa get better at understanding human speech.

According to Bloomberg, the audio is not traceable to a family by name,

but is linked to homeowners by both account number

and the serial number of the device itself.
