And we begin with the Great Eight eclipsing the Great One.

Yesterday, Washington Capitals forward Alex Ovechkin scored his

895th career goal, icing the longstanding record held by hockey legend Wayne Gretzky for more than 25

years. Alex, also known as Alexander the Great, and the Great Eight because of his jersey number,

found the back of the net in the second period.

The game was immediately paused, a ceremony was held on center ice,

and in a true sign of good sportsmanship, Wayne Gretzky was the first one to shake his hand.

They say records are made to be broken, the great one, told Alex and the crowd,

but I'm not sure who's going to get more goals than that.

The opening bell is ringing this morning on a bruised and battered Wall Street.
