You Need a Budget, where we teach you four rules to help you stop living paycheck to

paycheck, get out of debt and save more money. But what if your

spouse has no interest in this whole budgeting idea.

And I do best when I talk about myself.

Julie is about as interested in the nitty gritty of budgeting as I am in pedicures.

So when we do our budgeting process, and one of these days I'm actually going to tape us

doing our monthly budget. When we do that what it looks like is this I sit down

beforehand reconcile the accounts.

Thankfully with 1M4, the reconciliation is a lot faster.

And I don't have to enter in nearly as many receipts

as I used to because I've been keeping up with it on my phone.

So it's not that bad. Takes me a few minutes. I only have

one checking account. I don't have a savings account. We have a credit card. So those

two accounts get reconciled and I'm good to go. Then I go over to the budget and I look

it over myself and any spending that I've done that's inappropriate, I just hide. No, I'm just

kidding. I do look it over myself. I fill in all of the categories that need

filling in that are just static. Like all of our fixed expenses are in one big category and I know that we have to put in $400 a month to meet all these different things like everything conceivable.

It's this fixed expense, it goes in there and it ends up being 400 bucks a month crazy

And then I stick in our variable guests for you know bills that are guesses like utilities

City stuff so I just keep it like utilities, city stuff.

So I just keep it evenly killed and budget the same amount.
