In the late 90s, I had moved back to Oregon to the Portland area from

South Eastern Ohio. I'd been married for a few years at this point. We had a two-bedroom

townhouse and in our spare bedroom, which basically was for guests, we also had a kind of office

set up. I was by myself in this spare room and I was on the internet. We'd only had it for three

years or so at that point and they still had the old modems and everything. At the corner of my

eye saw a black thing move. Well, we had a black cat, so I actually at that point, I think we had two

black cats and so I naturally seemed it was black cat. I didn't really pay too much attention,

but my eyes just slid over to look at the cat like, you know, what does she want. And I was shocked

because it was definitely not a cat. What came basically sort of roiling, scooting, flowing out

from under the bed was this small little black smoke thing. It just went kind of right back under

the bed like it's realized I saw it like it moved intelligently and it was about a little over

foot-long maybe about six, seven inches in diameter, not really big. Roughly the size and shape of our

small cat. But when I looked at it, it was, it looked like smoke, but it was moving more like liquid

and it was, it was just very strange and it reminded me a little bit of, you know, at Halloween,

they sell that black cotton batting stuff. It was so much of that except it was moving, it was sort

of rolling in and out like in and out of itself, which was remarkable and it kind of scooted out on

the floor and I looked at it and like, oh my god, and I felt really grateful. I usually sit in chairs

and across like a fashion and I was really grateful my feet weren't on the floor because I was just

what is that thing? Of course I was, but I did jump down off of the chair and I looked under the

bed and couldn't see anything. There was enough light that I could and I had nothing stored

under there anything and there was nothing there and I'm like, okay, and I went and told my

husband about what I saw and he just kind of looked at me like, really? And then went on a wild ride
