So, what can you tell us about Herald Pool grown up, the early years of Herald Pool?

Well, let me back up and kind of give you the tablo that this whole thing is painted on.

Early on in the case, after I met Herald Pool and after I got involved with the lawyers,

it became abundantly clear to me that I was involved in something that was a lot bigger

than I, Jim Parkinson, I'm ever going to be about.

I mean, we had a World War, we had a war hero, we had some of the best lawyers in America,

including some of the biggest firms in Washington, D.C. Greenberg, Tarrick, and Patton Boggs.

I mean, both of those firms were involved in the re-election fiasco and Florida and the

legal battle.

So I was with some of the top people in the country.

So what I did is I, early on, got a hold of Lee Benson, who's one of my closest friends,

and I said, Lee, I said, let me tell you a little bit about this case.

I said, no matter how it turns out, when lose or draw, it's going to make a fascinating

story and it's a story that needs to be told.

There's a lot of this history that nobody knows.

So I got Lee involved early on to write the book with me.

So he would go to the hearings with me, he would, I would call him right after an event

and he would write it down and I would keep a diary and then he would interview Harold

Poole and I would.

So we both were on this story from the very beginning.

Sounds like a bit of an investment on your behalf.

Well, what I did candidly is I knew that Harold Poole's story was valuable.
