Hey everybody, it's Joe Lample, the Joe Behind Joe Gardner, and thanks again for joining

me today.

Well, did I open a can of worms with this episode?

I thought it was going to be fun on today's show to bust some gardening myths, you know,

all those tips and tricks and those concoctions and gardening remedies that are purported

to work that don't necessarily have a lot or any science behind them, right?

So to help me with this episode is our returning guest, Dr. Linda Chakrascott.

She joined us back in episode 21 for the show on How Plants Work, which was also the

topic of her latest book.

She's always great, but the two books she wrote prior to that one are on gardening myth

busting, so it was a no brainer to ask her back on the show to talk about some of those

most popular myths and why they do or don't work.

In the case you don't know, Dr. Chakrascott and her credentials to be the perfect myth

busting expert for the job.

Linda is an associate professor of horticulture and extension urban horticulturalist at Washington

State University and it's her science-based approach to all that she writes and talks

about that makes her perfectly suited for cutting through the hype and getting to the

truth of what works and what doesn't and why.
