Hey guys, how's it going? Scott here with another episode of the SBL podcast. And today we've got the

awesome Ian Stewart with us, who was actually introduced to me by Damian Erskine, who is coming

up on the podcast actually in a few weeks' time. The story goes, the story goes, I'm used to telling stories.

Obviously, I tell stories every night to my kids, but the story goes.

Essentially, Damien Erskine was doing a live seminar for the academy members over at

Scotsbatescences.com.

And after his seminar, he emailed me and said, hey, have you got anybody doing like Latin and Cuban

bass lines? And to which I replied, no, I haven't. And he said, you need to check out this

guy called Ian Stewart. And I did so. Ian is the author of the John Benitez base method book,

Volume 1, Freedom in the Clave, a rhythmic approach to bass playing.

He's also played with the Amazing Chicago bass band Marbin.

He's played with a host of New York Cuban artists.

And he has a really interesting and I think super inspiring story in how he became so heavily involved within that Cuban music scene in New York. I'll let him

tell you all about it in this interview, but I think you're going to, I think you're going to find

this, this interview really great. I really enjoyed hanging out with Ian and talking with him

and just finding out about his story and, you know, all those shenanigans.
