W. On March 3rd, 1991, I was a junior in high school, kind of just meandering through my days with my small

circle of friends. I'm pretty sure I was obsessing over new kids on the block at the time.

That was right before Grunge music was about to hit big and rain over my senior year. But at this point I was still all about

Donnie, Danny, Jordan, Jonathan, and Joey. I was never into the school spirit stuff. I didn't go to games or rallies or dances or

any of the activities I thought that were pretty lame. I had been a licensed driver for about three months and I had a part-time job after school.

Nothing really that sensational going on for me at the time. So that March 3rd that was a Sunday. The

night before, if I had to guess, I was probably up late watching what would be arguably one of the greatest

decades of Saturday Night Live ever.

But I likely didn't make it all the way through.

What I would have never known at the time,

what nobody would have ever known if not for a man named George Holliday

who noticed an incident involving some police activity unfolding outside

his balcony a few minutes after midnight that night.
