Welcome to Wheels Off, a show about the messy reality of the creative life.

During the course of the last year-off, recording the Wheels Off podcast, wildly popular Wheels Off podcast, I have been lucky enough to interview all sorts of creative type people, musicians, authors, actors, comedians, sportscaster, I'm sure there's other fields and disciplines that I'm

overlooking. But I have not yet, until now, recorded an interview with a magician. That's

what this is. Michael Casey performs under the moniker Casey Magic.

He hails from Raleigh, North Carolina. He does magic in a close setting, primarily,

but he also does stage magic. He went out on tour for the second time as the opening act for the old 97s on our recent holiday tour,

and he slayed audiences all across the country doing large-scale stage magic.

But where he does the most insane work is in close-up magic.

And that's why movie stars, rock stars, billionaires,

fly him all over the place to do magic for them.

So what you're about to hear is a man talking about magic.

And that's weird. I get it.

But he's an interesting dude, and he does a great job of communicating

a lot of the processes that go into the making of that magic. Obviously, he is not going to tell you

the secrets behind the magic that he does. But I think you will be fascinated by the stories about

how he does what he does and the life that one must live in order to make this a reality.
