Now on to the news. Good morning and welcome to Kid News. I'm Kim. Today is Tuesday, March 25th, 2025. And we begin with

Elon Musk intent on sending his first spaceship to Mars as early as next year. The SpaceX CEO

says his starship rocket won't carry astronauts, but will instead be captained by Optimus, Tesla's

humanoid robot. The tech billionaire said, if all

goes well, humans will follow as soon as 2029, although he admitted 2031 is more likely.

He's also made no secret of the fact he'd like to voyage to the red planet himself, but others

are far more skeptical of Musk's timeline.

Jose Hernandez, a former NASA astronaut, believes we are a solid 15 years away from reaching Mars.

And NASA consultant, Dr. Paul Sutter, said the schedule is far too optimistic, considering our current knowledge of Mars and the technology that exists for getting humans

there safely.

Multiple wildfires are burning in the Carolinas this morning, and fire officials have ordered

evacuations because of dry and windy conditions.

These same areas are still recovering from the devastation caused by Hurricane

Helene last year. Currently, three major fires in North Carolina and two in South Carolina

are keeping firefighters busy. Debris from last year's massive hurricane is acting as fuel

for the flames, and unfortunately more dry weather is forecast for the rest of the week.

It's been a bumpy road for Disney's live-action remake of the classic 1937 cartoon Snow White. The movie's

release was delayed more than a year. Many scenes had to be reshot, and its budget ballooned so high the final
