After Jason Stodakis, who in the hit show plays a soccer coach riddled with panic attacks, was invited to the White House yesterday to meet the first family, address the press corps, and help promote mental health awareness.

President Biden teased the appearance by tweeting a picture of the iconic belief sign from Lasso taped above the Oval Office door. But Ted didn't come alone. He brought several of his castmates, including Rebecca, Roy Kent, and Coach Beard, and told the media,

no matter who you are, no matter where you live, no matter who you voted for, we all know someone who's struggled, felt isolated, anxious, or alone. It's actually one of the many things that we all have in common as human beings.

Then he pointed to a big theme of the show and encouraged everyone to check in with their neighbors, co-workers, friends, and family, and ask how they're doing and listen sincerely.

Finland's done it again. For the sixth year in a row, that Nordic nation took the top spot as the world's happiest country, with Australia, Canada, the US, and UK, all making it into the top 20.

Overall, the report showed positive emotions eclipsed negative ones two to one, and kindness to others was about 25% higher than it was pre-pandemic.

One of the report's authors told CNN, the study showed you do end up feeling better about yourself if you're actually looking after other people.

The World Happiness Report is based on a global United Nations survey that collects data from people in more than 150 countries who are asked to evaluate their lives over the prior three years.

Many California residents are saying no not again, as yet another atmospheric river is now hammering the Golden State.

AccuWeather predicts the worst of the rain will hit Southern California, especially hard today, with vigorous downpours drenching already flooded areas, heavy snow hammering travel, and hurricane force wind gusts likely leading to downed power lines and outages.

Farther east 50 million Americans are under freeze alerts through this morning, as record cold temperatures are hitting areas from North Texas to the North Carolina coast.

By this afternoon meteorologists expect the region to thaw out, but this first official week of spring may not feel very spring-like.

A tech firm in the UK is taking a deep dive into the business of heating swimming pools.

The company called Deep Green has installed a small data center or server beneath the public pool in Devon, England.

According to the BBC, skyrocketing energy costs have pushed many public pools in the UK to close, but Deep Green CEO says 97% of the electricity that computers gobble up is spit back out as heat.

And the data centers or servers must be cooled off.

So at the Devon pool, Deep Green immersed a server in mineral oil inside a laundry machine sized box, then placed it under the pool.

The oil heated by the server is pumped into a heat exchanger to warm the pool.

The company says the so-called digital boiler can heat the water to 86 degrees Fahrenheit in about 60% of the time a gas boiler would.

It dramatically cuts gas consumption and carbon dioxide emissions, while at the same time saving the tech for money it would spend on a cooling system.

So far, at least 20 public pools in the UK have requested digital boilers.
