And we begin with a city in the Southwest U.S. leaning hard

into its reputation for hosting little green men.

Roswell, New Mexico is famous for being the spot where an alien spacecraft supposedly crashed

in 1947.

And now, according to the Associated Press the city's police

department has unveiled new uniform patches that embrace all the rumors and

tall tales that followed the design features a flying saucer with a light

beam radiating downward to form the letter R, two tiny alien faces with large eyes

and the words protect and serve those that land here.

The unveiling came the same day the federal government released a study saying

there is no evidence of extraterrestrials in Roswell or anywhere else.

Locals and the thousands who visit every year think otherwise.
