And we begin with hundreds of schools getting starry-eyed over next month's big solar

eclipse. On April 8th, the moon will pass between the sun and earth,

temporarily pitching parts of the US into midday darkness.

It'll be a stunning few minutes of celestial hide and seek

with potentially serious consequences for those trying to sneak a peak without special sunglasses.

For safety reasons, many schools in the 114 mile wide path of the event,

from Maine to Texas, are either springing kids early or cancelling

class altogether. Not only is the threat to your eyes real but kids walking

to and from school risk danger from distracted drivers.
