Good morning and welcome the kid news. I'm Tori. Today is Wednesday, March 11th,

2020 and we begin with the school bell ringing months early for some of the

nation's top universities.

Harvard is the latest to say it's not taking any chances

with the coronavirus.

Like students at Cornell and MIT,

Harvard undergrads have been told to pack up and head home for good.

Classes will resume after spring break, but only online.

The University of Washington, Princeton, Rutgers, Vanderbilt, and Ohio State are also weighing an online-only finish

to the semester. A handful of U.S. grammar, middle, and high schools have already decided

on internet-based learning, but it's class as usual for most of the country.

With health experts reminding us the best ways to stay healthy are to wash our hands more often

than we think necessary and to keep our hands away from our face as much as possible.

The need to be health smart with public events is now moved into the presidential race.

Late yesterday, even before the polls in six states closed,

front-running Democrats Joe Biden and Bernie Sanders announced that they were cancelling the rallies they had planned in Ohio.

As for the results themselves, as of this recording,

four states went Mr. Biden's way, including the big prize of Michigan.

The news was not good for the fading hopes of Mr. Sanders. Nearly half the delegates needed for the Democratic nomination for president have now been decided,

with former Vice President Joe Biden sitting comfortably in the lead.
