Today is Thursday, March 10th, 2022.

And we begin with no gym, no problem.

What began as the unofficial motto of a high school girls basketball team is now a badge

of honor for the reigning state champions.

Back in 2020, Hurricane Laura all but destroyed their gym at Hicks High in unincorporated Louisiana.

But it couldn't dampen the team spirit.

Instead, with the help of the local community, their coach set up a makeshift dirt court

with portable hoops where the lady pirates passed and dunked while dodging tree roots.

They also practiced at a local church and late at night at the gym of a rival's school

often sacrificing sleep to finish homework.
