The Center for Disease Control is now telling officials here

to prepare for a possible pandemic or widespread outbreak of the coronavirus.

So far there are only 53 confirmed cases in the U.S.

But health experts say they believe it's a matter of when, not if, it spreads.

They're urging all Americans to prepare and asking schools to if necessary

divide classes into smaller groups or consider closing down and using internet-based

lessons instead. President Trump meantime has asked Congress to set aside

2.5 billion dollars to help doctors and hospitals get ready for the fight. One

biotech company isn't waiting.

Moderna says it's already developed a potential vaccine,

but trials on humans won't begin until the end of April

and results won't be known until this summer.
