I'm Tori.

Today is Thursday, February 24th, 2022, and we begin with the clock ticking down for the

start of the major league baseball season.

If an agreement is not reached by this Monday, opening day of the regular season will not

happen as scheduled on March 31st.

And despite talks between the league and the Players Association taking place all this

week in Florida, there seems to be a little movement.

The main issue is money, but other topics like the draft lottery and postseason expansion

are also on the table.

Spring training's already been delayed, right now it's supposed to start a week from Saturday.

Forbes magazine described the negotiations in baseball lingo saying it appears both parties

are swinging for a grand slam with no one on base.
