As always, we want to know what does God say in his word.

The scriptures are our authority, and we live and breathe based on what is written.

How can we be people of real faith, people who really trust God, without, on the one hand, falling into the ditch of gullibility?

Well, I just believe. I turn off my brain, and I just believe, and you fall into the ditch of gullibility, well, I just believe, I turn off my brain and I just believe,

and you fall into that kind of gullibility, or on the other side, fall into a skeptical, I don't

know, prove it. Yeah, prove, show me, prove it. As opposed to saying, God, we trust you,

we love you, we don't believe every spirit, we test the spirits,

but we absolutely believe your spirit. How do we navigate between skepticism on the one hand

and gullibility, on the other hand? In charismatic circles, we may be more known for gullibility, in non-charismatic

circles, more known for skepticism. But neither of these are fruit of the spirit. Fruit of the spirit

include things like love and joy and faith. They do not include things like gullibility on the one hand or skepticism,

cynicism, on the other hand. So we want to talk about being mature people of faith.
