From what I can gather, keeping a rock band together over a long stretch of time with the same members is a really difficult thing to do.

Ryan Miller has done just that.

He has kept his band Guster together since 1991. Two years longer than my own

band, even though he's a couple of years younger than me. He is an R. Miller, as am I. We both

grew up in Texas. We have a lot of things in common, which is something we will cover during the upcoming interview.

But what's great about talking to Ryan is that his mind moves a million miles a minute,

and his ideas come in avalanches of creativity.

This guy is so fun and so funny and so weird that to be around

him is to be inspired. And I'm so glad I got to talk to him for wheels off because during the

course of our conversation, I learned things about him that even after years of friendship,

I had never known. And I got insights into a creative process that I think is one which is worthy

of emulation. What he does, the way he does it, how hard he works, how open-minded he is when it comes to

ideas and creativity and just keeping moving and keeping making.

I think it's so inspiring.

And I'm really glad that I get to share the crazy brain of Ryan Miller with you in this episode of Wheels Off.
