| 0:00.0 | Ola Amigos, today's podcast is recording of a keynote lecture I gave at the |
| 0:05.1 | Orthomolecular Medicine Congress in Boosom, Netherlands on October 3rd, 2015. |
| 0:10.2 | The original lecture was accompanied by a PowerPoint presentation, but I was |
| 0:14.5 | actually pretty deliberate about trying to make sure the words themselves stand |
| 0:18.0 | alone. If you would like to see this slide you can watch this lecture on my |
| 0:21.7 | YouTube channel. An easy way to get there is just go to foundmyfitness.com |
| 0:25.8 | forward slash YouTube. You should find this particular video in my |
| 0:30.2 | presentations playlist which also features other talks I've given elsewhere. |
| 0:34.2 | Of course while you're there you can also subscribe. My YouTube channel is a |
| 0:38.8 | great place for people that like a little extra visual annotation along with my |
| 0:43.7 | discussions. I often try to add relevant citations and other annotations that |
| 0:47.7 | don't make it on to less visual mediums like this one. In fact many of the |
| 0:52.1 | podcasts on my iTunes channel are also on my YouTube channel and have these |
| 0:57.0 | sorts of little helpful extras. Highly recommended. Okay, but back to my |
| 1:02.5 | presentation. What is it about? Well in this talk I discuss how micronutrient |
| 1:07.8 | inadequacies are very prevalent. Big surprise. And how my mentor Dr. Bruce Aims went |
| 1:14.3 | about proving components of a very important theory he came up with known as |
| 1:18.6 | the triash theory. The triash theory asserts that the body does a sort of |
| 1:23.9 | strategic rationing when micronutrients are scarce so that those proteins and |
| 1:29.5 | enzymes in the body which are essential for short-term survival and reproduction |
| 1:34.5 | get their share of the vitamins and minerals at the expense of other proteins |
| 1:39.9 | and enzymes that are essential for more of a long-term survival function. |
