According to my Recovery Elevator Sibriety app on my iPhone,

I have been sober for eight months, one week,

zero days, zero hours, 36 minutes and 5.3.54. 55 seconds.

Before we get into the podcast, I'd like to give a couple reminders and things to keep in mind while listening to the Recovery Elevator Podcast.

First off, listen to the similarities and not the differences.

It's going to be real easy to convince yourself that you're not an alcoholic because you're not 55 years old you don't have two kids and

you don't live in Iowa right you're probably not an alcoholic because that's not

you so I have done that myself I have listened to the differences and not the similarities.

In fact let me tell you about my very first meeting of Alcoholics Anonymous.

I walked out ecstatic because what I did I only listen to the differences. It was sort of a

drunk a log and it went around the room. I heard divorce, I heard bankruptcy, I heard

jail and prison and at that moment I had none of those things.

And I walked out, I put my hands in the air, said, Hallelujah, I am not an alcoholic.

It was about a couple days later after that, then I came back crashing down and, yeah, I was an alcoholic.

Number two, we are not affiliated with any 12-step program.
