Hi, welcome back for those of you longtime listeners and welcome for the first time to any of you who

0:06.9

are new here. I'm Natalie Norton and I am so very happy to have you here with us for this wonderful

0:13.1

episode that we have prepared for you today. Now I want to start out by telling you a little bit

0:19.9

about my process when I decided to launch

0:22.5

this podcast.

0:24.4

I really wanted to set up some criteria for myself as it related to really every aspect of

0:31.2

the show.

0:32.7

I wanted values in place and parameters about everything that I would do.

0:39.9

And why? I was doing it. I wanted a lot of clarity there because I knew that if I was clear that the entire process would be

0:45.7

more meaningful for me and it would have a greater impact in the lives of those who listened.

0:52.3

There was one area in which I was particularly specific, and that was about

0:59.3

guest conversations or interviews, the kinds of interviews and the kinds of people I wanted to

1:05.4

interview here on the show. And that's not because there aren't zillions of amazing, interesting, and inspiring people out there that we can talk to and we can learn from.

1:17.2

Because, of course, there are.

1:19.7

But not every one of those wonderful, inspiring people is going to be a fit for the type of show that I was committed to facilitating

1:28.8

here. And that's totally okay. But I wanted to get clear about the kinds of guests that I wanted

1:36.6

to have. And so I made this entire list of values. And I'm tempted to read it to you here. It was,

1:43.1

I called it guest gatekeeper values.

1:45.9

But the list, that list of intentions, that list of parameters is like 100 miles long.

1:51.1

So instead, let me just tell you what it is that stands out as sort of a central theme here.

1:57.4

It was about wanting to bring listeners into conversations with guests who I felt really had a connection and a sense of, for lack of a better word, a sense of stewardship over whatever area of life that they're showing up in and for.

2:14.6

Not simply bringing people to you because they had something marketable or something
