0:27.0 | One of the routines that I do on the Mic Drop podcast with pretty much every guest is I ask them what their morning routine is, |
0:34.0 | talk to them about fitness, most of the guests have some sort of military background or thus far have a lot of them keeping shape. |
0:42.0 | So I like to talk about that which has in turn spawned a multitude of questions from the listeners, from you guys, asking me what my morning routine is, |
0:53.0 | what I do in terms of a physical fitness regimen and what I believe in and things of that nature. |
0:58.0 | And so what I'm going to do on this podcast is basically go over all the different things that I've both tried, you know, looked at, researched, experimented with, used myself as a guinea pig. |
1:12.0 | And I can assure you that there is a shitload of them. I've tried just about everything and over the last 25 years. |
1:19.0 | And I've gotten some pretty, you know, some results have been surprising. Some of them have been, you know, kind of expected. |
1:26.0 | But I've learned a shitload over the last 25 years of working out and things of that nature. |
1:32.0 | I turn 40 this week, which is the nature of this podcast in conjunction with the social media posts that I just put up here recently. |
1:41.0 | And, you know, for me, that's kind of a discouraging birthday in some respects just from a societal cultural standpoint and looking at, you know, the fact that the average median lifespan of an adult male in this country is 78 and change years old. |
2:00.0 | So, you know, by that metric, I'm over halfway. But in the grand scheme of things, I don't look at it that way. I actually feel very fortunate to have been here as long as I have. |
2:12.0 | A, B coupled with the fact that I've got a number of brethren who have not been afforded the ability to turn 40 years old and have lost their lives protecting our way of life and fighting for what we all believe in and hold dear and true to our hearts. |
2:28.0 | And so, ultimately, with every birthday, I view it as a, as a fucking gift, up a priceless one at that. You know, a lot of people say time is money. |
2:38.0 | I disagree. Time is more valuable than money. You can't give it away. You can't save it. You know, you can't buy more of it. You can't invest it in something and get more time out of it. |
2:49.0 | It's a standard that, you know, no matter how rich, poor, old, young you are, you get the same 24 hours in every day. And so, I try to maximize that within reason, Jaco, with your 430 wakeups. |
3:01.0 | You know, I'm going to bust your balls every time about that. But that seems to be a running joke here on the mic drop. But at any rate, what I want to do is go over, you know, all the things I've tried both from a nutrition standpoint, from an exercise standpoint, away a life lifestyle, et cetera, traveling, being here, being in routine. |
3:18.0 | Trying all these different things. And then what I want that to spawn is, is feel free to post any questions that you have about the things that I talk about. |
3:27.0 | There's things that you want me to go further into or things that I didn't cover that you want to want to hear about. I'm happy to oblige and plan on doing some kind of fitness and health related podcasts, at least regularly. |
3:40.0 | It for sure is not going to be my main stay. This isn't morphing into a, you know, a doctor as, you know, podcast where all I do is talk about products and shit. But I've had enough people ask. |
3:53.0 | And frankly, I've, you know, I've done a lot of dumb shit to myself over the last couple of decades. And I'm happy to share what's worked and what's not. |
