Hey guys, how's it going? Scott here from Scott's Bass Lessons.com and I am back with episode 11 of the Scott's

Bass Essence podcast. Now I'm really over the moon today because we've got Rufus Philpott

with us today for today's guest and I've known Rufus for a long time. In fact, the first time I heard

about him, which was over 15 years ago, was for my old friend Chris May, the man behind Overwater Bases. Then he simply said, have you heard of Rufus? Well, you need to check him out. And when I did check him out, I was absolutely blown away. He's been a first call bass player. Well, when he was originally over here in the UK, he was a first gold bass player

and now over in the States. But he's lived in the States for, I think, over 10 years,

originally in New York and then now he's residing in Los Angeles. But this, it's really great

this podcast, because not only do you hear his his story about how he ended up such a

popular player over here in the UK playing on the scene but then how he moved to New York

and that experience over there and then over to LA and the experience there so it's just

it's really great and I think he he really shares some key information about his experience as well when he was learning and when he was coming up through the ranks.

It's just, I really enjoyed this interview.

amazing Alan Holesworth from, well, originally from Bradford, which is about seven or eight

miles from where I'm sitting right now. But he lives over in L.A. now. Jeff Globe, Alan,

Aldi Miola, Scott Henderson, Scott Kinsey, Kurt Covington, Tony McAlpin, the great drummer Gary Novak, John Abercrombie, Adam

Nussbaum, David Gilmore, Reggie Washington, so I assume you get the idea. He's recorded and played
