On the other side, he spent the morning reflecting upon the weekend that was in Michigan

basketball, both on the men's and the women's side.

On men's side, they felt Michigan State in emphatic fashion.

I guess in all of the conversation, the focus has been on how Michigan played and

has been playing.

I do need to take a moment, give Michigan State credit.

They won the league in very clear fashion.

We're clearly the best team in the regular season.

Make no mistake.

Their defensive mastery, the depth of their team.

They overwhelmed team with their depth, their rebounding ability, their defense.

They're swarming defense.

They locked teams down.

And that has put separation, or that did put separation between them and arrested the league,

and allowed them to outplay their deficiencies, their deficient shooting, which was their undoing in the early part of the year and did not harm them nearly as much later in the year.

They brought other teams down, as a matter of fact, with their ability to reduce them and their ability to shoot.

We saw that. Michigan had their worst shooting performance of the season yesterday.

I was three for 24. So credit to Michigan State. I don't want to take anything away from what they were able to do.

I want to make sure to give them credit as I do when they do something worthy of credit.

And they did in the Big Ten regular season crowd.

So there was that.
