2020 and we begin with Ken and Barbie looking a little bit more like you and me.

The dolls have long been criticized for promoting an

unrealistic definition of beauty, blonde, light skin, and slim features. But all that is

changing. Mattel's growing fashionistas line features all shape, sizes, and colors, and even a few disabilities.

Last year, a doll with a prosthetic limb went on sale.

New this year, Barbies with alopecia, a disease that causes hair loss, and one with

Vitalego, a condition that affects skin pigmentation. Ken's getting a makeover too.

He's now available in seven skin tones, eight hair colors, and nine hairstyles.

The overdue diversity appears to be paying off.

According to the company, sales are up.

Today, the Senate begins a 16-hour question and answer period

during which lawmakers can grill both house managers and the

president's defense team.

Anyone hoping for verbal fireworks, though, will be disappointed.

Even after sitting in silence all this time

senators still won't be allowed to ask their questions out loud. They have to submit

them in writing to party leaders who will sort through them before passing them on to

Chief Justice John Roberts to read out loud.
