Good morning and welcome to Kid News. I'm Tori. Today is Thursday, January 23rd,

2020 and we begin with two-time Super Bowl champ Eli Manning walking away from

the game for good. The legendary New York Giants quarterback

will officially hang up his cleats in a press conference scheduled for

tomorrow. After 16 years with the same team and always as the starter, Manning was this season forced to take a backseat to a rookie.

He did so with characteristic class, but admitted he didn't like it much.

He also is no interest in coaching, aside from being a timer for his oldest daughter

Ava's swim team and an assistant with her youth basketball team.

Once Eli signs off on Friday, the clock will start ticking on his all but guaranteed induction into the

football Hall of Fame. She's the first grader with firefighting in her blood so

when the smoke detectors went off in the middle of the night

Madeline Carlebone knew just what to do.

The six-year-old didn't panic.

She just ran and got her dad, who just so happens to be a volunteer firefighter and former chief.

He got everyone out safely, including her two-year-old brother. to her

firefighter and former chief.

First responders credit Madeline's quick response for saving her family

as well as their home.

It was only a few months ago that some of these same firefighters, including her dad, had visited Madeline's school to teach them about fire prevention.

Madeline's mom calls the six-year-old her angel.
